Steam Pigeon Soup With Chinese Herbs Recipe

Ingredients

  • Pigeon - 1 bird (600 grams)

  • Dang Gui - 3 slices

  • Ji Zhi - 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger - 2 slices

  • Water - 800 ml

  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Rinse Dang Gui and Ji Zji well, drain and set aside.

  • Clean pigeon and scald in boiling water for 1 minute, drain and rinse with cold water.

  • Place all ingredients into a steam pot and cover with sufficient amount of boiled water.

  • Steam with medium heat for 2½ hours, season with salt and serve hot.

Note: Dang Gui and Ji Zhi can easily obtained from most of the Chinese Medicine shop.
