Malay Mutton Soup Recipe(Sup Kambing)

Ingredients

  • Mutton - 500 grams

  • Curry powder - 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger - 3 slices

  • Turnip - 1 piece

  • Onions (sliced) - 3 pieces

  • Coconut juice - 80 ml

  • Mutton Stock - 800 ml

  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

Method

  • cook mutton and turnip together in boiling water until mutton is 80% cooked, the drain and rinse with cold water. (This to to reduce the strong taste of mutton)

  • Boil another pot of water, add mutton and ginger and cook with low heat until mutton become soft and tender. Dish out mutton and chop into serving size.

  • Heat up cooking oil in sauce pan and sauté sliced onions until fragrant the add mutton and curry powder and stir-fry until aromatic.

  • Add in mutton stock and coconut juice then bring to boil. Turn to low heat and simmer for another 30 minutes until soup become rich in flavor.

  • Add salt to taste and serve hot.
