Mackerel in Hot and Sour Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • cucumber - 1
  • white vinegar - ½ cup
  • mackerel - 2 pieces
  • salt 
  • granulated sugar - 1½ tbsp
  • pepper

Hot and Sour Sauce

  • water - 2 tbsp
  • ketchup - 2 tbsp
  • chili sauce - 1 tsp
  • corn starch - 1/3 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt

Method

  • Clean and dry the fish. Marinate with salt and pepper for 20 minutes.
  • Boil the vinegar, salt, sugar over a low heat. Cool it then soak the cucumber in the vinegar for an hour.
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil, sprinkle the fish with a pinch of corn starch, and fry until it turn golden brown on both sides. Set aside.
  • Boil all ingredients for the sour sauce, then pour onto the fish. Serve.
