Yellow Nasi Lemak Recipe (Nasi Kunyit)

Ingredients

  • Rice - 3 cups

  • Coconut milk - 4½ cups

  • Turmeric (pounded finely) - 2 inches

  • Pandan leave (torn and knotted)- 5 pieces

  • Peppercorn 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

  • Rinse rice and drain then put it in a rice cooker.

  • Mix turmeric paste with 1 cup of coconut milk then strain the liquid through a colander and mix with the rest of the coconut milk.

  • Mix coconut milk, peppercorn, salt and pandan leaves with rice and turn on the rice cooker.

  • When rice is cooked, let it stand for about 10 minutes and serve with curry chicken.
