Sambal Belachan Recipe

Ingredients

  • Red chili - 10 pieces

  • Chili padi (bird eye chili) - 5 pieces

  • Prawn paste (belachan) - 1 tablespoon

  • Lime - 3 pieces

Method

  • Flatten prawn paste and roast over fire with a wire net until slightly crispy and aromatic.

  • Cut chili into small pieces then mix with prawn paste and pound with mortar and pestle or blend with a blender into fine paste.

  • This spicy sauce goes well with most dishes especially with rice. Take the amount to consume and store the balance in a fridge. Add few drops of lime juice to enhance flavor when serve.
