Stew Belly Pork In Black Sauce Recipe (Tao Yu Bak)

Ingredients

  • Belly pork or pork with some fat (cut into 1 inches pieces) – 600grams

  • Water – 450 ml

  • Cooking oil – 1 teaspoon

  • Hard-boiled eggs (shelled) – 2 pieces

  • Dark soy sauce – 2 tablespoons

  • Light soy sauce - 4 tablespoons

  • Sugar – 2 tablespoons

  • Pepper - ¼ teaspoons

  • Garlic - 4 cloves

Method

  • Mix all ingredients with meat and marinate for 20 minutes.

  • Add in water to cover all ingredients and bring to a boil. Turn to low heat and add hard-boiled eggs.

  • Simmer over low heat until meat is tender and gravy reduced by half. Add seasoning to taste and serve.
