Bhatura Bread Recipe

     Ingredients

  • Flour (sieved) - 500 grams

  • Yoghurt - 4 tablespoons

  • Semolina - 50 grams

  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon

  • Lukewarm milk - 130 ml

  • Dry yeast - 1 teaspoon

  • Water - 120 ml

  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon

  • Cooking oil

     Method

  • Soak semolina for 10 minutes then drain. Mix sugar, yeast and milk and leave it to froth for about 10 minutes.

  • Combine flour, yoghurt and semolina in a large bowl then add yeast mixture and mix well. Add right amount of water to form a soft dough. knead in the ghee evenly and cover the dough with a damp cloth for 3 hours until dough double in size.

  • Divide the dough in 20 small portion and flatten it with both palms coated with ghee.

  • Heat oil in pan with high heat and deep-fry flatten dough until puffy and golden brown . Serve hot.
