Sesame Paste with Herbs Recipe

Ingredients

  • Shou Wu - 19 grams

  • Rice - 75 grams

  • Black sesame - 75 grams

  • Brown sugar - 2 pieces

  • Water - 2 cups

Method

  • Cook shou wu in 2 cups of water until water reduced to 1 cup then strain and keep sauce.

  • Rinse black sesame seeds then drain well, stir fry in a wok without oil over low heat until fragrant.

  • Wash rice and soak for 1 hour. Mix rice and black sesame seeds in a food processor and blend with 2 cups of water, Strain and discard residue.

  • Mix blended sesame, shou wu sauce and brown sugar in a pot, keep stirring and simmer with low heat until boil. Serve hot.
