Vegetable Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 750 grams
  • Tapioca flour - 120 grams
  • Water - 1500 ml
  • Pork - 1 kilogram
  • Chives (can also use Chinese leeks)- 1.8 kilograms
  • Dried prawns (fried and chopped) -300 grams
  • Firm Bean curd (fried and shredded) - 10 pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooke oil - 2 tablespoons

Method

  • To make flour skin - boil a pot of water, slowly add in rice flour, tapioca flour and stir slowly until well combine. Cover and simmer for another 5 minutes, transfer to a big mixing bowl then add water to knead into a smooth dough.
  • To prepare fillings - Steam pork until cooked then shredded. Clean chives or leeks and drain well then cut into small pieces. Mix shredded pork, chives or leeks, fried dried prawns shredded bean curd, salt and pepper and set aside.
  • Dive dough into small portion and form into cup shape. Top up filling and seal up the dumpling. Arrange on a steamer line with greased banana leaves and steam with high heat for 15 minutes. Remove and brush with cook oil while hot.
