Hakka Radish Balls Recipe

This is a very delicious snack that is good for breakfast or afternoon tea. Deep fry until golden brown if you serve it the next day.

      Ingredients

  • Dried prawns (clean, soaked) - 50 grams
  • Dried shredded cuttlefish (clean, soaked) - 50 grams
  • Small onions (sliced) - 100 grams
  • Garlic (chopped) - 50 grams
  • Minced meat - 250 grams
  • Radish (shredded) - 1 kilograms
  • Carrot (shredded) - 100 grams
  • Tapioca flour- 150 grams
  • Spring onions (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking - 4 tablespoons

      Method

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil and stir fry dried prawns and dried cuttlefish to fragrant Then set aside.
  • Heat another 2 tablespoons of cooking oil and stir fry small onions and garlic to fragrant. Add minced meat and stir fry until aromatic.
  • Add shredded radish, carrot, fish sauce, sesame oil, sugar, pepper and salt  then mix well. Stir in dried prawns, dried cuttlefish and fry until dry.
  • Add tapioca flour, chopped spring onions, coriander leaves, mix well and stir fry for 5 minutes. Dish up and leave it to cool.
  • Shape the radish mixture into ping pong ball size, arrange on a steaming tray and steam for 10 minutes with high heat.
