Ingredients
- Topside Steak - 500 grams
- Ginger (sliced) - 5 pieces
- Star anise - 1 piece
- Dried Chinese Orange Peel - 1
small piece
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Water - 1 cup
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Black soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Cut steak into bite size and
season with black soy sauce, sugar, salt and pepper for 20
minutes - 30 minutes.
- Heat cooking in clay-pot then
stir-fry ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Add beef and continue to
stir-fry until beef turn golden brown.
- Add water, star anise, dried
orange peel and bring to boil then turn to low heat and simmer
for 4 hours until beef completely soften.
- Pressure cooker can also be
used to reduce the cooking time.
