Stewed Beef In Clay-Pot Recipe

Ingredients

  • Topside Steak - 500 grams
  • Ginger (sliced) - 5 pieces
  • Star anise - 1 piece
  • Dried Chinese Orange Peel - 1 small piece
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Cut steak into bite size and season with black soy sauce, sugar, salt and pepper for 20 minutes - 30 minutes.
  • Heat cooking in clay-pot then stir-fry ginger and garlic until fragrant.
  • Add beef and continue to stir-fry until beef turn golden brown.
  • Add water, star anise, dried orange peel and bring to boil then turn to low heat and simmer for 4 hours until beef completely soften.
  • Pressure cooker can also be used to reduce the cooking time.
