Ingredients
- Duck - ½ bird
- Ginger - 10 slices
- Spring Onions (cut into 2
inches length) - 3 stalks
- Star anise - 1 piece
- Black soy sauce - 2
tablespoons
- sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Chinese cooking wine - 2
tablespoons
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 500 ml
- Cornstarch solution - 2
tablespoons
Method
- Clean duck and cut into bite
size.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in pan and stir-fry ginger
and star anise to fragrant. Add Duck meat , black soy sauce,
sesame oil, sugar, Chinese cooking wine, and spring onions.
continue to stir-fry until duck meat is well cooked.
- Add water and bring to boil then turn to low heat and simmer
for 1 hour.
- When duck meat is thoroughly cook and soften, add cornstarch
and cook for another 2 minutes to thicken the gravy and dish is
ready to serve.
