Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • Beef fillet (sliced)- 300 grams
  • Snow peas - 100 grams
  • Spring onions (cut into 2 inches length) - 5 stalks
  • ginger - 15 slices
  • Carrots (sliced) - 300 grams
  • Cooking wine - ½ tablespoon
  • Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce -2 tablespoons
  • sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 5 tablespoons

Method

  • Marinate the beef with cornstarch (1 tablespoon) sugar (½ teaspoon) black soy sauce (1 teaspoon) sesame oil (½ teaspoon) and 2 tablespoons of water for 20 minutes.
  • Heat up the cooking oil in frying pan, add marinated beef in and stir-fry for 1 minute and remove from heat.
  • Stir-fry the ginger, snow peas, spring onions and cooking wine with remaining oil for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add water, cornstarch, oyster sauce and bring to boil then add beef and stir-fry for another minute until gravy thickens.
  • Serve while hot.
