Chicken and Ham In Jelly Recipe

Ingredients

  • Chicken - ½ bird
  • Ginger - 3 slices
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Cooked ham - 180 grams
  • Cooking wine -2 teaspoons
  • Hot water - 3 tablespoons
  • Gelatine - ½ tablespoon
  • Salt to taste


Method

  • Bring sufficient amount of water to boil then turn to low heat. Add chicken with ginger, garlic and pinch of salt in and simmer for 15 minute. Do not boil chicken with high heat to avoid damaging the skin texture.
  • Leave boiled chicken to cool and remove bones then cut chicken into serving size. Sliced ham into equal sizes and arrange the chicken and ham in alternate layers in a bowl.
  • Add mixture of hot water, cooking wine and gelatine on top of the chicken then steam the dish for 5 minutes.
  • Leave the dish to cool down then place it in refrigerator to set the dish.
  • Turn the dish on to a serving plate and serve chilled.
