Braised Mutton In Soy Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • Mutton (cubed) - 500 grams
  • Carrot (cubed) - 1 piece
  • Large onion (sliced) - 1 piece
  • Ginger - 3 slices
  • Garlic (crushed) - 3 cloves
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons

A

  • Cooking wine - 1 tablespoon
  • Star anise - 1 piece
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
  • Black soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Light soy sauce - 2 teaspoons
  • Sugar - 2 teaspoons

Method

  • Boil mutton cubes in salt water for 30 minutes then remove mutton from stock.
  • Heat up cooking oil in pan and add garlic and ginger. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  • Add mutton and brown  for a few minutes.
  • Add 1 cup of the mutton stock, carrot, onion and A. Bring to boil and reuce heat and simmer the mutton until tender. Serve while hot.
