Minced Beef Wrapped in Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients

  • Minced beef - 500 grams
  • Large cabbage leaves (boil in water with little oil until limp) - 8 pieces
  • Ginger - 2 slices
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons

A

  • Cooking wine - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - ½ teaspoon
  • Oyster sauce - ½ tablespoon
  • Corn flour - ½ tablespoon
  • Black soy sauce - ½ tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon

B

  • Black soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 5 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Oyster sauce -  1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon

C

  • Corn flour - ½ teaspoon
  • Water - 1½ tablespoons

Method

  • Marinate mince beef in A for 30 minutes
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, fry the 2 slices of ginger then add the minced beef.  Remove from heat when the beef changes color.
  • Divide beef into 8 portions and wrap each with cabbage leaf and then arrange in a heat-proof plate and steam for 15 minutes.
  • Bring B to the boil and add well-stirred C. Cook until slightly thickened.
  • Pour the mixture over the cabbage-wrapped minced beef and serve while hot.
  • serve 4.
