Beef With Cashews Recipe

Ingredients

  • rump steak - 500 grams
  • unsalted roasted cashews - 90 grams
  • shallots (sliced) - 8
  • garlic (chopped) - 2 cloves
  • fresh ginger (sliced) - 2.5 cm
  • oil - 3 tablespoons
  • corn flour - 1 tablespoon
  • water - 1/2 cup
  • oyster sauce - 2 teaspoons
  • sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • soy sauce - 1 tablespoon

Method

  • Remove any excess fat from meat, cut meat into thin slices and marinate with light soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar and corn starch for 15 minutes.
  • Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in pan/wok, add the beef and quick stir-fry for 1 minute, remove from wok and set aside.
  • Use remaining oil in pan, add garlic, shallots and ginger, sauté to fragrant.
  • Add meat to pan with vegetables, toes well. Combine corn flour, water, oyster sauce, mix well and let it cook for another minute or until gravy thicken. add cashews nuts lastly, toss well and Serve.
