Beef Porridge Recipe

     Ingredients

  • Beef (sliced thinly) - 250 grams

  • Onion - 1 piece

  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece

  • Coriander powder (toasted) - 1 teaspoon

  • Nutmeg powder - 1 teaspoon

  • Carrot (diced) - 1 piece

  • Beef stock powder - 1 tablespoon

  • Rice (rinsed) -200 grams

  • Water - 2 liters

  • Chinese celery (chopped finely) - 1 cup

  • Cooking oil - 3 tablespoons

  • Fried chopped shallots - 1 cup

  • Pepper and salt to taste

Method

  • Heat oil in a deep sauce pan then add sliced onion and stir-fry for a while. Add other spices in and sauté to fragrant.

  • Add 2 liters of water in and bring to boil. Add rice, beef, carrots and let it boil for another 5 minutes then simmer with low heat for 30 minutes.

  • When rice and beef become soft, add beef stock powder and season with pepper and salt.

  • Garnish porridge with chopped celery and fried shallots and serve hot.
